The legal side, quickly
The legal drinking age in Dubai is 21, and venues do check ID, especially at the door of licensed clubs. Alcohol is served in licensed venues — hotels, clubs, and certain restaurants — rather than everywhere the way it might be elsewhere. Bring a physical ID; a photo of your passport on your phone isn't always accepted.
What a night actually costs
Costs vary enormously by venue tier, but as a rough shape: a pool day at a mid-range beach club typically runs from around AED 150–300 per person, often redeemable against food and drink. Nightclub cover charges range from free (especially for women on select nights) up to AED 150–200 at bigger venues, and that's before drinks. A table with bottle service is where the real spend happens — that can run into the thousands depending on the venue and night. If budget matters, going for weekday pool days and free-entry nights stretches things a long way.
Table vs. walk-in
Bigger nights — anything with a named international DJ — are far more predictable if you book a table or at least reserve entry ahead of time. Walking in works fine for regular weekly nights at most venues, but weekends at popular spots can mean a real wait, or a full house, if you show up without any kind of reservation.
Getting home safely
Dubai has a genuinely reliable taxi and ride-hailing network — Careem and Uber both operate late into the night, and hotel taxi ranks are well staffed even at 3am. Public transport (the Metro) stops running well before most clubs close, so plan on a car for the way home.
